Insign are Impressed with their new Pacer 2512K Router
|
|
Insign are one
of the first customers to take delivery of a brand new Pacer
K Series router. Insign is a well established company that
has been trading for 11 years, is based in Sheffield and has
built up an impressive local and national client base
including Meadowhall, Sheffield Arena and The Car People to
name just a few. They have a well earned reputation for
delivering quality products at competitive prices and within
agreed timescales. |

The K Series
from Pacer was launched at Sign UK in March of this year
following a long and intensive period of development during
which time new drive systems, controllers and software were
all evaluated and tested to ensure that this new machine
would provide the high performance and reliability expected
of all Pacer products. Robert Marshall, Pacer’s Marketing
Director confirms that “one of the main target markets
for this new K series is the signmaking industry. Pacer has
for many years been a leading supplier of CNC routers and
engravers to signmakers and this new large format, low cost
machine will reinforce this position and provide even more
choice to suit individual client requirements and budgets”.

Insign’s
Managing Director, Paul Woollatt, described how they came to
buy their Pacer 2512K. “We visited Sign UK this year with
the intention of just having a general look around at CNC
routers. We wanted to see what was available and compare
specifications and prices. Our plan was to purchase a
machine sometime in the next 12 months. We spent a whole day
at the show and looked in detail at all the machines there.
The only machine and supplier that we felt fully comfortable
with was the new K series machine from Pacer. Their staff
were extremely knowledgeable and gave us great confidence
that this was the right machine for us. It’s virtually the
only machine at such a low price that uses high quality
ballscrew drives for accuracy and long term reliability. We
decided to take advantage of the special show price on offer
and ordered the machine within days of the exhibition”.

One of the
main reasons that Insign needed a machine was to reduce the
amount of work that they were subcontracting out. They were
finding that timescales and quality of work were quite
variable and they were limited somewhat in the type of jobs
they could undertake. Now, within just weeks of having the
machine installed, they are able to do all their cutting and
engraving in-house and can undertake a much wider variety of
jobs. Paul is really excited with these new opportunities
and can already see profit margins and leadtimes improving.
He said, “Jobs that used to take 3-4 days to produce in
house by hand can now be turned around in 1 day. Having the
Pacer is just like having an extra member of staff. We now
have the confidence to take on much more trade work and know
that it will be profitable”
Insign’s Works Manager, Anthony Townsend is equally
enthusiastic about his new Pacer machine. He claims, “It
is really good for cutting acrylics, dibond and foamex and
we are also impressed at how well it handles aluminium and
brass. The training that we had here on-site from Pacer was
very good and we’ve got to grips with all of the software’s
powerful features really quickly. We were able to do actual
jobs on the machine almost from the day it was installed. “
