New, Version 3 of XMC-E Machine Control Software

Pacer Systems is pleased to announce the release of a major new version of its renowned XMC-E machine control software.

 All Pacer CNC routing and engraving machines are supplied with either a basic or an enhanced version of XMC-E. This is installed on a PC sited adjacent to the machine and provides a powerful yet user friendly solution for programming and controlling the machine.  This closely integrated approach, which is unique on this type of machine, allows fast program generation from standard dxf files and also an unsurpassed ability to very quickly modify and fine tune programs without having to go back to an office based programming system.

 Version 3 of XMC-E is the first major new release for more than five years and, by taking advantage of todays massively improved PC processing and graphics performance, represents a major leap forward in terms of productivity and features.

Productivity for the machine operator is improved through the use of  interactive 3D graphics for ‘drag and drop’ positioning of parts on the machine bed and for instant 3D verification of part programs before they are run. A new ‘sheets’ feature maintains a library of sheet materials and records what has been cut out of them and where. This improves material utilisation as well as reducing job setup times.

 New features to allow improved machine performance include automatic lead in and lead outs for ‘undercutting’ tools, a ramp in and out feature to reduced marking of the cut parts, a powerful double sided cutting feature for fast and easy setup and auto cleanup of cut parts. An arc fitting module will help to improve the quality of facetted CAD data and new pocketing algorithms are designed to reduce cycle times and improve cut quality.

 The machine control now benefits from new features such as ‘fast forward and rewind’ of the program, full control over slewing heights, an automatic cutter break detect feature and even a camera interface for fast and accurate job registration.
