SL Plastics Buy a Second Pacer Router

SL Plastics was formed in 1991, specialising in the manufacture of changeparts for aerosol filling production lines. In their early days they spent some time using CNC milling machines but it soon became clear that what they really needed was a CNC router.

Their first machine was a Pacer 1502 Compact, installed in 1999, and according to Spencer “it has run very well, and we have been very pleased with both its performance and reliability. The backup support from Pacer Systems has been excellent. We are now moving to larger premises, as we are now manufacturing changeparts for liquid filling production lines, as well as all the associated guarding, labelling and other plastic parts for these lines. With all of these new product lines we found it was necessary to invest in a second, larger CNC routing machine.”

Spencer did spend some time looking at other machine suppliers but quite quickly decided on a second Pacer machine. They settled on a 2512K machine which has a larger working area of 2500mm x 1250mm and chose a high power 6.7hp spindle. He said “we had no hesitation in placing this order with Pacer Systems as they had clearly demonstrated their commitment to us over many years, and we have every confidence that the new router will fulfil our requirements. We have also taken this opportunity to have our existing machine upgraded, and so we feel we will have two very versatile machines through which we can juggle our machining commitments. Our customers require an exacting service, with very high standards of finish and accuracy, together with very short lead times for deliveries, and so our confidence in our machines is paramount to maintaining our strong position within a very niche marketplace.”
