3D Carving
with the new VCarve Wizard
|
3D carved signs can be really attractive and eye-catching.
Until recently however, the software required to generate
the toolpaths for this type of machining has been expensive,
difficult to use and often produced results of variable
quality.
Now, thanks to a new package called VCarve Wizard from
Vectric, it is really quick and easy to create programs for
3D engraved signs. Buying this software won’t break the bank
either - it should pay for itself on the first job you use
it for! |

Working with VCarve Wizard couldn’t be
easier - you just open the 2D design that you want to carve,
select the regions you want to work on, define the tool to
be used and then the software calculates the machine
program. The output is compatible with all Pacer machines
and no further processing is necessary. |

As an added bonus, VCarve Wizard can show a realistic,
rendered simulation of what the finished sign will look
like. This could be used to show customers what they’ll get
before any material is cut. It is also really useful for
checking that the program is correct before wasting an
expensive workpiece.
Drawing and layout tools are also available for adding
borders, scaling, sizing and positioning ready for
machining.
The software is very good at handling potential problems in
files such as duplicate copies of objects, small loops and
coincident vector nodes. Drawings that may take many hours
of editing in other packages can very often be machined in
minutes using VCarve Wizard. |
