Pacer Launch New Addition to the Popular, Low Cost K Series
Range
|
|
The new K
series machines were launched last year at Sign UK 2004 and
have proved so popular that now a fourth size has been added
to the range. Originally available in large format 2500mm
and 3000mm sizes, these are perfect for signmakers working
with full size sheets of acrylic or MDF. However, many
smaller signmakers have limited space to accommodate such
large machines and so customer demand has led to the
development of a new, smaller 1250mm x 1250mm size K
machine.

Known as the
1250K, this machine has all the same characteristics of the
larger K Series except for its compact footprint and, of
course, its lower price. It is ideal for machining all types
of plastics, woods and metals and is suitable for engraving
as well as routing, profile cutting, 3D carving, rapid
prototyping and mouldmaking. The accuracy of its ballscrew
drives allow precise inlays to be produced with ease.
For a low cost,
medium format CNC routing and engraving machine, Pacer’s new
1250K takes a lot of beating. It is designed and built in
the UK to the highest of standards and even includes Pacer’s
unique on-line E-Support service for rapid assistance in
case of problems. |

Standard
features include sealed ballscrew drives on all axes, dual
drives on X axis for high rigidity, integrated vacuum bed,
swarf extraction and Pacers XMC machine control software.
XMC is widely regarded as the easiest to use yet most
powerful and versatile machine control system available on
this type of machine. It is PC based to allow for instant
networking to the customers existing systems and uses 3D
graphics to show design data and machine toolpaths for
verification before running on the machine. As all setup and
programming can be done on this machine control PC, it is
very easy for the operator to make small changes to the
program in a matter of seconds and avoids wasting time by
having to return to an office based programming system when
adjustments have to be made.
High feed rates
of 10m/min and an advanced controller that is optimised for
both 2D and 3D machining allow customers to achieve high
productivity but without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
Automatic tool length calibration is another standard time
saving feature which ensures precise cut depth on all jobs
and a fully automatic toolchange system is also available as
an optional extra.
